American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA at UCLA)
2022 - 2023: President
Overview
The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Student Branch at UCLA focuses on professional development, academic support, and technical projects. We are a student section under the national AIAA, and we are the parent organization of four technical projects: Design Build Fly, Uncrewed Aerial Systems, Rocket Project, and Bruin Spacecraft Group. 
Objectives
- Represent our project teams to the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) Department and the School of Engineering. 
- Direct the planning of professional development, peer mentorship, and career opportunity events for our members at least once every two weeks. 
- Continue to pursue close relations within the project teams and with other student engineering organizations, as well as the department and the School of Engineering. 
- Be the pride of UCLA Aerospace Engineering. 
2021 - 2022: Co-Internal Vice President
Objectives
- Foster close relations with the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) Department at UCLA as well as other engineering student organizations. 
- Plan internal events for AIAA members and UCLA students interested in the aerospace industry.

Key Tasks
As co-Internal Vice President, my key tasks included: 
- Planned and directed social events such as the ice cream social, which saw an attendance of 80 students. 
- Coordinated with the AIAA Los Angeles-Las Vegas (LA-LV) Section to present our student branch in the LA-LV Student Conference. Directed the presentation of our progress and our technical projects to 4 other student university chapters and industry professionals. 
- Selected to represent UCLA aerospace students in attending the school's alumni awards dinner. 
- Planned, organized, and hosted the quarterly MAE Department Town Halls for students, professors, and staff. 
- Tripled attendance and participation using better advertisement, student-driven agendas, and friendly competitions from Fall to Spring. 
- Introduced sli.do live questions, trivia kahoot, pre-town hall surveys, 
- Gave space for students to share feedback to the department professors and staff in topics such as available resources, course schedules, teaching practices, and student diversity.
